Barbara Kremer is a Massachusetts watercolor artist who primarily paints landscapes of the New England area. She was a teacher of English as a second language, a school director, and an adjunct faculty member at North Shore Community College. Although she has always loved teaching, painting became her passion from the moment she picked up the paint and brush.
She has studied with several award-winning and nationally recognized artists including Paul George, Gary Tucker, and the late Tom Sutherland, her teacher and mentor. Barbara paints year-round but is a three-season plein air painter. “The challenge of painting en plein air is both creatively and emotionally inspiring and allows me to enter a zone where I become totally immersed in nature, the environment, and my painting.” Her watercolors are bold and free with a strong sense of light and dark. This freedom translates into a feeling of spontaneity in her work.
Over the past few years, Barbara has exhibited in many juried shows and has been awarded numerous times for her work. She is a member of Peabody Art Association, a juried artist member of North Shore Arts Association, a juried artist member of Rockport Art Association and Museum, and a designated master artist at Newburyport Art Association.
